Partner Julia Lockhart has written a chapter in the recently released collection of essays titled “A Labour of Love: Caregiving, Resilience and the Practice of Law”, edited by Neha Chugh and Anne-Marie McElroy. Each of the essays in the collection, written by practicing lawyers from across Canada, contains a personal reflection on practicing law while existing in community with others. The essays speak to the human challenges of caring for children, parents, adult relatives, and oneself while sustaining a satisfying and engaging legal career.
Julia’s chapter, on post-partum depression and recovery, serves as a reminder that mental health challenges can exist even when everything else is going right, and that good support is available. The book is available for purchase here.
