Jade Chandra

eDiscovery Paralegal & Administrative Assistant

Jade joined NST in 2023 as a Paralegal practicum student, having recently completed her bachelor’s degree in legal studies from Capilano University. As an eDiscovery Paralegal and Administrative Assistant, Jade supports NST’s legal team in complex commercial litigation cases. Her responsibilities include assisting with document management, maintaining client files, and providing technical support in eDiscovery processes.

Bridget Hui, CEDS

eDiscovery Paralegal and Technology Lead

Bridget is an eDiscovery Paralegal and Technology Lead, having joined NST in 2015 after obtaining a BA in psychology from the University of British Columbia. Bridget obtained her paralegal certificate in 2019 and has since specialized in eDiscovery where she has served on some of NST’s most complex litigation disputes. She earned her CEDS certification in 2023. Bridget provides technical support and assists in all stages of complex commercial litigation from document collection through to trial preparation using various document management software including Summation, iPro Eclipse SE and Relativity.

Susan Van Altena

Senior eDiscovery Paralegal

Susan van Altena joined NST as a senior paralegal in 1998 managing complex commercial litigation cases and moved into the Litigation Support Manager role in 2006. With more than 35 years’ experience, she has implemented eDiscovery Best Practices for the firm to ensure that our evidentiary data management is defensible, as well as time and cost efficient for our clients.

She provides litigation technology, practice support and project management on all commercial litigation matters liaising with service providers, clients and experts. She also provides training and support in Summation, Ipro Eclipse SE and Relativity and emerging technology.

Christine Drag, CPHR

Director of HR and Operations

Christine Drag joined NST in 2023. Christine started in the Legal sector in 2014 and has since worked in small, mid-sized and national law firms. In her current role, Christine leads the firm’s Human Resources and Operations functions and initiatives.

Krysta Williamson, CPA

Controller

Krysta Williamson earned her Bachelors of Business Administration (Major in Accounting, Specialization in Business Law) at Douglas College, graduating in 2017 and received her CPA designation in May 2020. She has worked in various accounting roles since 2008 ranging from AP Specialist and Bookkeeper to Internal Audit Manager. Krysta has worked in public practice accounting firms, small privately owned companies, and large public corporations.

Krysta will be leading the accounting team and all finance functions for the firm.

Andreea Ardeleanu

Andreea joined NST in August of 2022. She has obtained her Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in 2020, and is set to complete her Paralegal Certificate from the University of Fraser Valley in 2024. Andreea is the assistant to Mark. S. Oulton, Kayla K. Strong, and Cindy Chen.

Ashley Cardeno

Ashley Cardeno received her LAA certificate from Vancouver Community College in 2013 and her Paralegal certificate from Vancouver Community College in 2015. She has experience in personal injury, general litigation and professional regulation and discipline matters. She is the assistant of James C. MacInnis, K.C.

Michele Creamore

Michele Creamore joined the NST legal assistant team in 2018. She received her LAA certificate from Capilano University in 2018 where she was a top student. She is currently enrolled at Capilano University to obtain her Paralegal Certificate. Michele is assistant to Murray Clemens, K.C.,  Julia Lockhart, and James Parker and is a member of NST’s Health & Safety Committee.

Sue Fewings

Sue Fewings is a member of our accounting department.  Sue was invited to the firm as a bookkeeper in 2002 and in the ensuing years has overseen many changes at NST of technology, regulations, processes and personnel.  Sue’s accumulated knowledge and attention to detail continues to provide continuity in a constantly evolving and expanding department.

Jirry Liu

Jirry is a paralegal who joined NST in late 2022. Jirry obtained her paralegal certificate in 2012. She provides support in managing files, document collection and trial preparation. She is the assistant to James MacInnis, K.C. and Heather E. Doi.

Rick Pearson

Rick Pearson received his Legal Administrative Assistant diploma from Capilano University in 1997, and has worked in hybrid Legal Administrative Assistant-Executive Assistant-Paralegal positions in law firms, an in-house legal department, the Law Society, and government legal departments in Canada, and in local and international law firms in Japan where he resided for 8 years.  He is very proactive with his professional development and has received numerous certificates, including from the CLEBC (2000 to present), Marketing (BCIT, 2006) and certificates in Japanese law and legal procedures (Kyushu University, 2010 to 2014).  Rick is the Legal Administrative Assistant to Peter Reardon, Edith Chen, and Allison McMahon and is a member of NST’s Health & Safety Committee.

Rachel Rabey

Rachel Rabey started at NST in a front desk role in 2014, quickly moving on to become LAA first for Geoff Gomery K.C. (now Gomery J.) and currently for Stephen Schachter K.C., Peter Senkpiel and Emily Hansen. In addition to these roles, Rachel is NST’s marketing and business development co-ordinator. Rachel has a BA (Queens, 2010); MA in Archaeology (UBC 2012) and a Certificate in Legal Administration (Okanagan College, 2017)

Nadia Walnicki

Nadia Walnicki joined NST in 2020. She is the legal assistant of Irwin Nathanson, K.C. and Allyse Cruise. Nadia received her LAA and business training at the Toronto School of Business, and has been an LAA since 1995.

Sharon Yu

Sharon Yu joined NST in 2016 bringing extensive experience as a legal assistant and paralegal. She has a Paralegal Diploma (Capilano University, 2012), Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurial Leadership (Kwantlen Polytechnic University, 2008), Business Administration Diploma (Douglas College, 2005), and Legal Assistant Certificate (Douglas College, 2004).  She is currently in a hybrid role as the paralegal and assistant for Karen Carteri and Randy Hordo.
