Beedie obtained leave to appeal that award and a stay of its obligations under the lease. NST secured leave to appeal on both questions of law framed in its petition. The substantive appeal was heard in October 2024, and the decision was released in December 2024. The appeal was allowed, setting an arbitration award against Beedie where the amount involved was $80 million.
