Partner Julia Lockhart is selected as the inaugural winner of the BC Women Lawyers Forum Rising Star Award in 2023. This award recognizes “the accomplishments of a woman lawyer who has achieved tremendous professional success over the course of ten years of practice or less, and who has contributed to improving the legal community in British Columbia as a whole. The WLF Rising Star Award is intended to recognize and promote women lawyers who have made outstanding contributions over a shorter tenure and to encourage them to continue on this impressive trajectory.”
After graduating as gold medallist at U of T Law, Julia clerked for Justice Marshall Rothstein, C.C., K.C., at the Supreme Court of Canada, who described Julia as having an exemplary work ethic and as being instrumental while clerking for him.
Julia is an exceptional lawyer who combines a deep understanding of the law with a thoughtful, professional, and client-focused approach to her practice. Julia is a brilliant member of the NST team and a role model for young lawyers.
