NST lawyers contribute to continuing legal education in B.C.
As in past years, NST’s lawyers have been active in 2019 in contributing to continuing legal education. In February, Kevin Loo was a discussion group leader for the CLE course entitled “Mastering Civil Evidence 2019”. In May, Karen Carteri was a panel moderator for the Women in Litigation forum sponsored by Benchmark Litigation, and Peter Senkpiel was a presenter at a CLE course entitled “How to be a Great Litigation Junior”. In June, Karen Carteri was a co-presenter for a CLE seminar entitled “Advanced Securities re Political Risk Disclosure”. In the fall, Stephen Schachter and Kevin Loo will be on faculty for the UBC Trial Advocacy Course, in which law students receive practical instruction and are able to practice their advocacy skills before judges and senior counsel. Also in the fall, Peter Senkpiel will be a guest speaker at UBC regarding conflicts, and will be speaking at an Appellate Advocacy section meeting. As in past years, he will also be teaching a course in restitution at the Allard School of Law.
