Bridget is an eDiscovery Paralegal, having joined NST in 2015 after obtaining a BA in psychology from the University of British Columbia. Originally joining as a receptionist, Bridget obtained her paralegal certificate in 2019 and has since specialized in eDiscovery where she has served on some of NST’s most complex litigation disputes. She provides technical support and assists in all stages of complex commercial litigation from document collection through to trial preparation using various document management software including Summation, iPro Eclipse SE and Relativity.
Susan van Altena joined NST as a senior paralegal in 1998 managing complex commercial litigation cases and moved into the Litigation Support Manager role in 2006. With more than 35 years’ experience, she has implemented eDiscovery Best Practices for the firm to ensure that our evidentiary data management is defensible, as well as time and cost efficient for our clients.
She provides litigation technology, practice support and project management on all commercial litigation matters liaising with service providers, clients and experts. She also provides training and support in Summation, Ipro Eclipse SE and Relativity and emerging technology.

Ismahan (Izzy) Ali
Ismahan is our newest receptionist, coming to us after finishing a Bachelor of Management degree at the University of Lethbridge.
Joanne Bower has been with NST since 2015. She is assistant to Randy Hordo. She received her paralegal certificate from Vancouver Community College in 2020 and is NST’s Worker Safety Representative.
Michele Creamore joined the NST legal assistant team in 2018. She received her LAA certificate from Capilano University in 2018 where she was a top student. Michele is assistant to Murray Clemens, Q.C. and Julia Lockhart.
Sue Fewings is a member of our accounting department. In the more than 15 years since Sue was invited to the firm she has overseen many changes at NST, of technology, regulations, processes and personnel. Sue continues to provide continuity in a constantly evolving and expanding department.
Lindy Grant has been with NST since 2013. She is the legal assistant of James MacInnis, Q.C., and Peter Senkpiel. Lindy obtained her paralegal certificate from Vancouver Community College in 1997 and has worked in the field of legal administration since 1987.
Mo Gupta is a member of our account department. She has been with the firm since 2013, prior to which she held accounting roles at several other institutions including
Chelsey Lee is a member of our accounting department. She started with the firm in 2020. Prior to joining NST, Chelsey worked in various firms as an accounting manager, and as a technical engineer and manager with PC Law, a legal software provider.
Kimberly Otto is the most recent LAA to join the NST team. She received her LAA certificate from Capilano University in 2020 and is Caitlin Ohama-Darcus’ assistant. She also assists the paralegals with larger projects.
Saijal Patel is our receptionist and central services co-ordinator. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management in 2015 from UBC, where she was a top student.
Jessica Pinard joined NST in October 2019 after completing her LAA certificate at Sprott Shaw College. She is the only assistant at NST to juggle three lawyers: Peter Reardon, James Parker, and Heather Doi.
Rachel Rabey started at NST in a front desk role in 2014, quickly moving on to become LAA first for Geoff Gomery QC (now Gomery J.) and currently for Emily Hansen and Stephen Schachter QC. In addition to these roles, Rachel is NST’s marketing and business development co-ordinator. Rachel has a BA (Queens, 2010); MA in Archaeology (UBC 2012) and a Certificate in Legal Administration (Okanagan College, 2017)).
Nadia Walnicki joined NST in 2020. She is the legal assistant of Irwin Nathanson, Q.C. and Kevin Loo. Nadia received her LAA and business training at the Toronto School of Business, and has been an LAA since 2000.
Sharon Yu joined NST in 2016. She received her paralegal certificate from Capilano University in 2012 and is the assistant of Karen Carteri and Kayla Strong.
